Smith, Wagner’s free safety and a converted wide receiver, set a school record by intercepting three Iona passes, including two in the final seven minutes, to give the Seahawks a 27-14 win over Iona. Along with the three picks, the junior finished the day with two solo tackles and four pass breakups. Smith collected his first interception in the early stages of the second quarter with the Seahawks up, 10-0. Then in the final quarter, Smith jumped high over an Iona receiver to record his second pick with just over three minutes to play. He then ended the Gaels next drive by stealing another pass attempt to seal the Wagner victory. The Edison, NJ native now ranks seventh on the team in tackles (26) and leads the conference in interceptions (6).
