Shimmin collects her second NEC Player of the Week honor of the season after netting the game-winning goals in a pair of road wins last week. In a 2-1 victory over Robert Morris on Friday, she drove a free kick from the top of the box into the back of the net in the 31st minute for her fifth goal of the year. She followed with a goal and an assist in a 3-1 triumph over St. Francis (PA) on Sunday. After receiving a cross from Jessica Kelley, Shimmin drilled a 25-yard shot past the goalkeeper, then fed Kelley for an insurance goal late in the contest. Shimmin, who hails from Liverpool, England and is a two-time NEC Player of the Year, is currently third in the league in goals (six), assists (four) and points (16).
