Hoyer becomes the second Monmouth player to corral NEC Rookie of the Week honors this season after her late-game heroics led the Hawks to a 2-1 overtime win at Mount St. Mary’s on Sunday. Trailing by a goal with just under three minutes to play, Hoyer tapped in a rebound to tie the game at 1-1. The Trenton, NJ native then scored the golden goal just 3:23 into the extra session, chipping in a shot off a pass from Megan Manney. Hoyer now leads all Monmouth freshman this season with three goals and seven points.
