Disch, the NEC’s leading tackler, led the Great Danes in stops for the fourth consecutive week in Albany’s 23-6 win over Sacred Heart on Saturday. The redshirt freshman matched a career-high with 13 tackles, including seven unassisted and two for losses. To open the first quarter, the Pioneers moved into Great Dane territory on its first two possessions of the game, and Disch snuffed out both threats. The North Plainfield, NJ product intercepted Dan Ammel’s pass at the Albany 22 yard line on the first drive, and followed that by recovering Ammel’s fumble to end the second drive. Disch, who also plays on several special teams units, helped Albany’s defense force four turnovers and hold Sacred Heart to 286 total yards.
