Parpas, a freshman, was named the Offensive Most Valuable Player as the Terriers captured the Smith Barney Vermont Soccer Classic over the weekend. St. Francis defeated the host Catamounts, 3-2 in overtime, and tied New Hampshire, 1-1, at the event. After trailing Vermont by two goals with 12 minutes to play in the tourney opener on Friday, St. Francis rallied to tie the score at 2-2 and send the game into overtime. In the 95th minute, Parpas sent a long pass to teammate Vincenzo Conigliaro, who beat the Catamounts’ goalkeeper inside the far post for the game-winner. Two days later, he beat the keeper in the 15th minute for the Terriers’ lone goal against New Hampshire. A native of Larnaca, Cyprus, Parpas now leads the Terriers in assists (two) and points (four) on the season.
