Tailback Cory Harge rushed 20 times for 177 yards and scored two touchdowns, including an NEC-record 87-yard score in the second quarter, despite playing only one half of Central Connecticut State’s 27-6 win over conference foe Sacred Heart. The sophomore now has six 100-yard games in 12 career contests and five career touchdown runs of at least 45 yards, as he helped the Blue Devils to their first-ever victory in an NEC opener. The 2003 NEC Rookie of the Year earns his fourth NEC weekly honor after being named rookie of the week three times as a freshman last season.

Other notables: Wagner quarterback John Sciarra (La Canada, CA/St. Francis/UCLA) completed 29-of-38 passes for 333 yards and three touchdowns in a win at La Salle – Wagner wide receiver Chris Turner (Syracuse, NY/Henninger) set a Wagner record with 15 catches for 196 yards and three scores – Robert Morris signal caller Drew Geyer (Gibsonia, PA/Deer Lakes) established a single-game school record with six touchdown passes, including five in the first half, pushing the Colonials to a win over Buffalo State.
