Cohen is one of many bright young freshmen to enter the NEC this season. Last week, the South Jersey native was strong on the mound and at the plate. She pitched a three-hit shutout in the Colonials’ 4-0 win over Quinnipiac on Saturday, and also helped seal the victory with a two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth inning. In game one against Central Connecticut State on Sunday, she earned her second win, giving up four runs, while striking out four. She also broke the game open for RMU when she hit her first career gland slam. In the second contest, she belted a solo four-bagger to push Robert Morris to a 4-2 win. On the week, she hit .333 (3-9) with three home runs and seven RBI, while posting a 2-0 record and striking out 10 NEC batters. In league meetings, Cohen is hitting a team-best .435 (10-23) with four home runs and eight RBI and is 3-2 with a 1.16 ERA.
