Pasternak, a highly regarded freshman, becomes the fifth Quinnipiac player to claim NEC Player of the Week honors in 2003-04. She was a perfect 6-0 last week with three straight set wins at #2 singles, and a trio of convincing #1 doubles victories along with partner Kim Piazza. In leading the Bobcats to wins over Wagner (7-0), Binghamton (6-1) and Providence (7-0), she lost a combined total of just 10 games in her three singles wins, including a 6-0, 6-0 triumph over Wagner’s Gina Gelardo. Quinnipiac, the NEC preseason favorite according to league head coaches, is now 9-2 overall and 3-0 in NEC play.
