Piazza claims her second NEC Player of the Week award of the 2003-04 campaign after earning a straight set (6-4, 6-4) victory over Sacred Heart’s Lauren Galatie in #1 singles play on Saturday. In leading the Bobcats to a 7-0 triumph, she also teamed with Gabby Pasternak for an 8-1 win at #1 doubles. A three time all-NEC selection (honored for singles in 2001 and doubles in 2002 and 2003), Piazza registered her 100th career victory back in February. Quinnipiac, recently chosen as the NEC preseason favorite by league head coaches, is now 6-2 overall and 2-0 in NEC play.
