Salway becomes the first freshman on the men’s circuit to earn NEC Player of the Week plaudits this season following a terrific week that saw him go a combined 4-0 in singles and doubles play. In the program’s first-ever win over Boston University (6-1), Salway won a marathon match at #6 singles, rallying to defeat Ross Lohr, 4-6, 6-0, 15-13. He followed up with an easy 6-0, 6-0 triumph over Sacred Heart’s Kevin Guidicipietro two days later as the Bobcats rolled to a 7-0 victory. Salway also teamed with fellow frosh Stefano Salvatore for an 8-4 win vs. the Terriers and an 8-2 victory against the Pioneers at #3 doubles. Quinnipiac, which was recently selected first in the NEC preseason coaches poll, has won three in a row to improve to 9-2 overall and 2-0 vs. NEC competition.
