Off to its best start since 1979 with a 9-3 record, Mount St. Mary’s can point to Pease’s work on the mound as one of the key factors in the team’s early season success. Last week, Pease began the week with a save - his third in as many days - in the Mount’s 6-5 win over Lebanon Valley. He worked a perfect 1.1 innings, striking out three in the process. In his first career start four days later vs. Manhattan, Pease earned his first-ever victory by throwing eight innings of seven-hit ball. He allowed three earned runs, struck out eight and walked three.
