Pape earns her seventh rookie award, one off the league record set by Long Island’s Kim MacMillan in the 1999-00 season, after averaging 20.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 2.5 steals and was a remarkable 22-26 from the free-throw line (84.6%) in two Pioneers wins. The freshman collected 17 points, five boards and three assists in a victory over intra-state rival Quinnipiac. In the double-overtime win at Monmouth, Pape netted a team-best 23 points, eight rebounds, four assists, four steals and a block. The Stamford, CT product has seven 20-point games this season and has reached double-figures in seven-straight. Pape leads all freshman and ranks seventh in the league in scoring (15.0 ppg), seventh in field-goal percentage (50.0%) and second in steals (2.54 spg).
