A consistent performer for the Colonials all season, Thomas broke out in a big way last week in leading the Colonials to road wins over Quinnipiac and CCSU. Thomas averaged 23.0 points and 6.0 rebounds, while shooting 60.7 percent (17-28) from the field and 58.8 percent (10-17) from three-point range. In an 88-82 triumph over Quinnipiac, Thomas matched his season-high with 28 points, tied a career-best with six three-pointers and collected six rebounds. In the last nine minutes of play, he twice converted old-fashioned three-point plays to push the Colonials ahead by a point. Two days later, he keyed a 69-68 win over CCSU with 18 points, including 7-10 shooting from the floor and 4-6 from beyond the arc, and six boards. His offensive rebound and subsequent layup with 5:00 remaining pulled the Colonials within two, then his defensive carom off a missed CCSU three-point attempt with 1:19 to play led to a layup that tied the game at 66. On the season, Thomas leads the NEC in three-point shooting (.480) and ranks second in made three-pointers (61), fifth in rebounding (7.1 rpg) and 12th in scoring (15.0 ppg). He ranked 10th nationally in the latest NCAA report in three-point percentage. One of two NEC players who hail from Indiana, Thomas recently became the third Colonial in school history to reach 200 trifectas for his career (201).
