Klaiber led Fairleigh Dickinson to a pair of thrilling overtime wins on the road last week, as the Knights moved into third place in the league standings with a 6-3 mark. Klaiber posted two double-doubles, averaging 24.5 points and 11.5 rebounds, while playing all 90 minutes. In an 84-81 victory at Quinnipiac on Monday, he poured in a career-high 31 points on 10-20 shooting from the field, including 3-5 from long range, and was a perfect 8-8 at the free throw line. Klaiber, who also pulled down 11 boards, pushed the Knights to a nine-point lead at the break with 18 first half points. At Mount St. Mary’s, he helped FDU erase a 10-point deficit for its third straight win overall and fourth in a row on the road by netting 18 points and grabbing a game-high 12 rebounds, including three caroms in the extra frame. Klaiber, who broke the 500-point mark for his career vs. the Mountaineers, has all four of the Knights’ double-doubles this year. The Greenbelt, MD product leads his team and ranks in the NEC top-ten in scoring (16.8 ppg), rebounding (6.4 rpg), free throw percentage (.794) and blocked shots (1.3 bpg).
