Cavalieri’s outstanding play at the point was one of the key factors as St. Francis (NY) assembled a three-game winning streak, including two conference victories, over the last two weeks. Cavalieri averaged 16.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 3.0 steals and shot 51.4 percent from the floor and 47.4 percent (9-19) from three-point range. In a 75-66 win over Mount St. Mary’s, Cavalieri tallied 15 points, four rebounds, five assists and two steals. He went on to collect 14 points - including a key layup with just under a minute to go in overtime - five boards, six assists and five steals as the Terriers knocked off Cornell, 78-76. This past Saturday, Cavalieri shook off the effects of a first half ankle injury to score a career-high 21 points, to go along with seven rebounds, four assists and two steals in a 74-69 victory over Quinnipiac in Madison Square Garden. He sank 7-10 shots from the field, including 4-6 from beyond the arc. Cavalieri, who averages 10.2 ppg, leads the NEC in steals (2.8 spg) and ranks fourth in assists (4.7 apg).
