A three-time weekly honoree, Harge tied an NEC single-game record with 242 yards rushing in CCSU’s 36-31 setback at Stony Brook on Saturday. Harge, who carried the ball 24 times and scored on touchdown runs of 79 and 45 yards in the first half to stake the Blue Devils to a 28-16 lead at the break, matched the league standard set by Albany’s Gary Jones just two weeks ago, also against Stony Brook. The Amhurst, NY native also established a new NEC single-season rushing record for freshman with 1,013 yards. Harge, who became the first freshman in league history to crack the 1,000-yard milestone and the second CCSU runner in two seasons to reach the millennium mark, ranks second in the NEC in rushing yardage and is averaging 5.7 yards per carry.
