#9 Youngstown State 43, MERCYHURST 10
Mercyhurst drew blood first with an opening-drive field goal off the foot of rookie Rocco Marcantonio, but Youngstown State answered with six-straight touchdowns to seal the Opening Day victory on Thursday. The Lakers were successful in redzone conversions thanks to junior quarterback Alex Gevaudan, who capped off the game’s scoring with a two-yard pass to sophomore tight end Sha’lik Hampton.
 
#10 North Dakota 42, LIU 21
LIU cut a halftime deficit in half on Thursday night after holding the 10th-ranked team in the nation scoreless for the final 30 minutes of action. Throwing for 173 yards and a touchdown, graduate quarterback Luca Stanzani added a rushing score for the Sharks, who rebounded from a scoreless first half by putting up 21 points in the second. 
 
NEW HAVEN 22, Marist 21
New Haven stormed back from an 11-point deficit to defeat Marist, 22-21, at Ralph DellaCamera Stadium on Friday, taking the lead for good on a 19-yard field goal by senior Liam Quigley with 4:07 left to play. Quigley sparked the comeback with a 35 yarder with 10:57 left in the third before graduate student AJ Duffy, who threw for 311 yards and two touchdowns, followed suit with a 46-yard touchdown throw to senior wide receiver Nate Burleson II to make it a 21-19 game with 1:32 left in the penultimate quarter.
 
ROBERT MORRIS 28, WAGNER 7
A blocked punt, recovery and 22-yard return for a touchdown by sophomore Galen Combs in the opening quarter set the tone for Robert Morris, which ran to a 28-7 win at Wagner in the first NEC matchup of 2026 on Saturday. A transfer from Charleston, Combs proved to be sensational on Opening Weekend, racking up a game-best 104 receiving yards on four catches while accounting for three of his team’s four touchdowns. 
 
Roosevelt 44, CHICAGO STATE 28
Second-half turnovers proved to be costly for Chicago State on Saturday as the Cougars fell to Roosevelt by a 44-28 final in the program’s inaugural game at SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview, IL. Three different receivers registered touchdown catches from rookie quarterback Ashton Pannell for the FCS’s newest squad, while sophomore Michael Dabney Jr. put the Cougars’ first-ever points on the board thanks to a 5-yard scamper with 3:30 left in the opening quarter.
 
#12 South Dakota 59, CENTRAL CONNECTICUT 20
Central Connecticut struck the scoreboard first with a 3-yard rushing touchdown by senior Isaac Stopke, but South Dakota’s offense was too much for the Blue Devils to handle inside the DakotaDome on Saturday. The 12th-ranked Coyotes ended the opening half with a 42-3 run fueled by three touchdown passes from Austyn Modrzewski to cruise to the 59-20 triumph.
 
Bryant 24, STONEHILL 6
A fourth-quarter offensive outburst that featured consecutive touchdowns and a late field goal propelled Bryant to a 24-6 victory over Stonehill at W.B. Mason Stadium on Saturday evening. The Skyhawks outgained the Bulldogs by a 304-299 edge, including a 94-yard advantage in passing yards.
