Central Connecticut State University Director of Athletics Tom Pincince announced Pat Hall as the head coach of the baseball program. Hall, who has been an assistant coach on the Blue Devils' staff since 2009, has been a part of six NEC championships in New Britain.
"We are excited to elevate Coach Hall to be the head coach of our baseball program," Central President Zulma R. Toro. "He has played an integral role in the team's championship success, and we look forward to him continuing this great legacy."
Hall joined the CCSU program as an assistant coach in 2009, working primarily with the pitchers and handling recruiting duties. In addition to six NCAA Tournament appearances, the Blue Devils have won more than 25 games in a season on 12 occasions with Hall on staff, including a 36-14 campaign in 2023 – the second most single-season wins in program history.
"I am excited and honored to be entrusted with being named head coach of the Central Connecticut baseball program," Hall said. "I would like to thank President Toro, Sal Cintorino and Tom Pincince for this opportunity. I am also thankful for the love and support of my family."
"It has been an incredible honor to share the dugout with Charlie Hickey over the past 18 years," Hall added on his time on staff at CCSU. "His unwavering loyalty to the university, his players, and his coaching staff is truly unmatched in today's college athletics. Charlie has dedicated his career to building young men of character while representing this program with integrity, passion, and class every single day."
"The foundation and culture of the program that has been built here is impressive. The former players at CCSU have all contributed to our success and I look forward to maintaining those standards," Hall concluded.
Hall has helped a total of 77 Blue Devils win All-NEC recognition, including a pair of NEC Player of the Year and two NEC Rookie of the Year honorees and the 2023 NEC Pitcher of the Year, Dominic Niman. During his record-setting campaign, Niman also collected Collegiate Baseball and ABCA/Rawlings All-America honors, and became the sixth NEC Tournament MVP Hall has coached. Furthermore, Hall has helped develop a trio of Freshman All-Americans.
"Coach Hall has been an integral part of the success of our baseball program over the past decade-and-a-half," said Pincince. "His dedication and loyalty have provided stability and leadership for our student-athletes and University during his time in New Britain and has earned this opportunity. I am excited for the future of Blue Devils baseball with Pat at the helm."
Hall has cultivated a well-connected coaching career throughout the state of Connecticut. He spent 2005-08 at Fairfield University where he worked with five All-MAAC honorees. Hall started his collegiate coaching career at the University of Bridgeport from 2001-04.
Other coaching experience for Hall includes working with the Connecticut Blue Jays. In 2008 he coached the 15U team to an AAU national championship. He also served as head coach of Bristol during the 2010 NECBL season and guided the team to the second-best record in the league.
Hall graduated from the University of Bridgeport and was captain of the baseball team in 1998. He was also a captain of the team at Housatonic Community College and helped them advance to the Junior College World Series in 1995.
Hall resides in Bristol with his wife, Beth Ellen, and they have two daughters, Kaylee and Ryleigh.
WHAT THEY'RE SAYING…
"I have known Pat Hall for 20 years and from the first time I played for him, to this day he has done nothing but push me to be a better player and person. It's rare that you get a single coach that you can say drastically altered the course of your career and I can honestly say I'm not sure I would have made the big leagues without Patty.
"He is one of the best coaches I have ever had and someone I would lean on while I was in the big leagues. He may be intense and he may demand your best but it all comes from his desire to make you the best version of yourself. Everyone should be lucky enough to play for him.

"There cannot be a more qualified or deserving associate head coach in the Northeast or country to lead the CCSU baseball program into the future. Our programs played versus each other twice a season nearly every year of my 16 years at Fairfield and I always felt Coach Hickey and Coach Hall always well-prepared their teams while recruiting top athletes year in and year out as any team we played in the Northeast. Pat is well-respected by his coaching peers and will continue, with no doubt, leading this successful program forward."

"Coach Pat Hall will continue to push CCSU to be a winning program because of his mentality and ability to make everyone around him better. He taught me that toughness isn't just about how hard you play, but how selflessly you compete and how much you elevate your teammates around you. His unwavering belief in me and constant support was the reason I had the opportunity to play Division I baseball and ultimately professional baseball. I will forever be grateful for the impact he had on my life both on and off the field."

"Patrick Hall is the right man for this job. I had the privilege of being coached by him from 2009-14, and during that time he did far more than develop my skills on the field. He helped me perfect my craft, instilled discipline, and played a significant role in shaping me to the man I am today. His leadership, dedication and genuine investment in his players are second to none. The Blue Devils are truly blessed to have a coach like Patrick Hall leading their program, and I can't think of anyone more deserving of this opportunity."

"My time as a student-athlete at CCSU was truly a pivotal part of my personal and professional development. The relationships I built, the lessons I learned and the opportunities I was given helped shape who I am today, and I'll always be grateful to the University and baseball program for that experience.
Coach Hall played a tremendous role in my growth as both a player and a person. His leadership, commitment to his players, and passion for the program have always been evident. I couldn't be happier to see him named head coach and I have no doubt that CCSU baseball is in great hands. The future of the program is incredibly bright under his leadership."
